Canadian native Mark Blackmore knows his manufacturing! With more than 20 years of experience under his belt (four of which have been with Kawneer), Mark has managed and operated facilities both in Canada and the United States. In his current position as the manager of Kawneer’s Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Service Center, Mark is responsible for the transition to, and safe and efficient operation of, the new GTA Service Center. Mark also works to provide the leadership necessary to align the capabilities of the service center to meet the needs of our customer base in the GTA and surrounding areas.

Mark began his career in manufacturing with British Plaster Board (BPB) where he served as plant manager of a facility in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He later joined WR Grace serving as a regional manufacturing manager responsible for the building and construction materials facility in the Greater Toronto Area and distribution warehouses in the United States. Mark also worked as director of operations with Atlantic Packaging and was responsible for several facilities in the GTA. Additionally, Mark served as senior project manager with Kawneer Global Special Projects where he managed several major projects including the Austonia Condos in Austin, Texas and the Children’s Hospital of Chicago in Bolingbrook, Illinois.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Mark currently resides in Whitby, Ontario. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Calgary and a Master of Science degree in Economics from York University. And, although Mark’s responsibilities with Kawneer certainly keep him busy, he still makes time to backpack during the summer months and enjoys curling in the winter.
